How to add some Valentine’s love to your blog
Last night at our monthly KLCK bloggers meeting, we were treated to a terrific talk by Irish food blogger and author, Mona Wise on how she brought her Wise Words blog from its first inception to the successful and widely read blog it is today. We also got to sample Ron the Chef’s amazing culinary skills – his Mexican Wedding Cookies went down a treat
You can grab a flavour of the evening through my Storify summary of the tweets and catch up on Mona’s great tips which ranged from injecting your personality into your blog, use of images, responding to comments and how to keep your blog regularly updated.
One of the pertinent points made by Mona was keeping your blog up to date seasonally and in tune with annual events, such as today’s celebration of Valentine’s Day. You may be thinking that’s fine for a foodie blogger, and yes, it is perhaps easier to accomplish with lifestyle blogs, but no matter what your business, with a little imagination you can find a way of incorporating topical, seasonal or annual global celebrations into your blog. Krishna De has some example of how a variety of companies are spreading the Valentine’s love online today. Well worth checking out.
Are you adding a Valentine’s themed post to your blog today? If so, we’d love to read it – so do leave a link in the comments below. Even if you aren’t writing about Valentine’s Day, you can still spread the love by liking this post or sharing it for us today – and why not do the same for other blogs. After all, love comes in many guises…
♥ Happy Valentine’s Day to you all ♥
Thank you for your timely suggestion. I put up a Valentine’s blog called Alone on Valentine’s Day

It may well be the most read blog I have written before morning!
Thanks Martine – we had a discussion last night at KLCK on what our most widely read blog posts were – wish you could have been there with us to join in.
I love Mona’s “Wise Words” blog and check it out regularly. Thanks so much for the opportunity to add our links here today.
I wrote a post on the Claddagh ring, Ireland’s enduring symbol of friendship, faith, love and loyalty. Here is the link. http://www.irishamericanmom.com/2012/02/13/the-claddagh-ring-irelands-enduring-symbol-of-friendship-faith-love-and-loyalty/

Hi Marie,
I was eagerly following the tweets about #KLCK last evening. It even inspired me to take time away from the TV and write ~ http://seefincoaching.com/2012/02/a-valentines-day-message-–-a-day-to-do-what-you-love-a-year-to-love-what-you-do/
